SpikeStream is a fast and flexible simulator that works with medium sized networks of up to 100,000 spiking neurons. This simulator has the following key features:
Version 0.1 of SpikeStream was written as part of the CRONOS Project, where it was used to develop models of sensory motor integration and the neural correlates of consciousness. This version worked well with the SIMNOS virtual robot.
SpikeStream 0.2 has an improved architecture and better support for different types of plugin. This version uses the NeMo simulator to carry out CUDA-accelerated modelling of Izikevich spiking neurons, and uses the iSpike library to interact with external devices, such as the iCub robot.
